Maria Gibson Maria Gibson graduated in 1983 from the University of NSW with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Economics and in 1996 obtained her Master of Commerce in Taxation and Legal Studies. Maria started her career at the Commonwealth Bank and after climbing the corporate ladder decided to take a break in 1989 after the birth of her second child. She began to work from home where she established a taxation consulting practice. At the same time, Maria was a senior lecturer in Taxation Law at Randwick TAFE. Maria also took a very keen interest in the property market and was very closely associates with several very successful property developments. She developed and refined her skills in negotiating with councils, developers and builders. Her entrepreneurial skills coupled with the technical abilities in the areas of taxation law enabled her business to flourish and grow. In July 1997, she amalgamated her practice with PLA Management Group where she is currently a senior partner. The amalgamated practice has enjoyed a steady and annual growth with both Peter Lang and Maria contributing their individual areas of expertise. The Accounting Practice in Edgecliff NSW is run with a flair for individually tailored taxation and financial solutions. In addition to her career, Maria has also been closely associated and involved with both her children, initially during their school years and more currently as young adults.
